Is PRX PLUS meant to replace the classic PRX-T33?
No, PRX PLUS is designed to complement PRX-T33, not to replace it. They address different clinical needs and patient profiles. PRX-T33 remains the treatment of choice for sensitive skin, fine lines, cutaneous elastosis, and delivering an immediate glow and deep hydration. PRX PLUS is a next-generation solution specifically formulated for more advanced signs of photoaging, targeting deep wrinkles, enlarged pores, oily skin, and uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation.
What is the main difference in the formulation of the two products?
While PRX-T33 relies on 33% Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) modulated by Hydrogen Peroxide, PRX PLUS features a newly patented combination. It utilizes 33% Ammonium Trichloroacetate (the salt of TCA) and replaces hydrogen peroxide with 2% Homocysteic Acid, combined with Citric and Phytic acids. Homocysteic Acid is an exclusive, highly innovative NMDA receptor agonist that accelerates epidermal turnover and acts on melanocytes to promote a strong brightening effect.
How do the immediate post-treatment results differ?
PRX-T33 is renowned for providing an instant lifting effect, mild edema (which plumps the tissue), and extreme radiance, making it ideal as a one-session treatment before a special event. PRX PLUS does not produce the same intense immediate glow. Instead, its immediate effect translates into an extremely smooth, silk-like skin texture and a visibly brightened, unified complexion. Does the application protocol and yield differ between PRX-T33 and PRX PLUS?
The manual massage technique is identical, but dosage and frequency differ significantly. PRX PLUS is absorbed more quickly and requires less product per session: only 1–1.5 ml for the face and neck, compared to the 1.5–2 ml needed for PRX-T33. This increases the yield up to 20 facial treatments per box for PRX PLUS. Importantly, while PRX-T33 can be applied every 7 days, PRX PLUS sessions must be spaced 14 days apart to allow the skin adequate time to regenerate from the strong cellular turnover stimulation.
Can PRX PLUS and PRX-T33 be combined in the same patient's treatment plan?
Yes, there are no contraindications to alternating the two products, as they share the same pH 2 environment and belong to the same product family. However, it is clinically recommended to select the product based on the primary skin concern. For example, a full structural cycle of PRX PLUS can be performed to address deep wrinkles and pigmentation, while PRX-T33 can be used in a separate session when the patient requires an immediate pre-event glow or when facilitating injectable treatments through its edematous effect.
Can PRX PLUS be combined with other in-clinic aesthetic devices?
Yes. PRX PLUS acts as an excellent primer and synergist for various aesthetic procedures. It can be successfully combined with microneedling (to target depressed scars and enlarged pores), non-ablative fractional radiofrequency, HIFU, and PDO threads. When performing injectable treatments such as deep or medium fillers or biorevitalization, PRX PLUS should be applied before the injection to provide a plumping effect that lifts the epidermis and facilitates the homogeneous distribution of the injectable product.
Is a specific home care regimen required after PRX PLUS?
Yes, the home care protocol is considered mandatory to prevent side effects and to maximize and extend clinical results.
